Yes, we are going to do it again. It is definitely a leap of faith and overwhelming to start the process again, especially knowing some of the trials that may lye ahead. It is exciting too.
We started our paperwork on June 28. Our home study is complete and we are waiting for approval through the state which is a new step. It has slowed the process down by 3 weeks so far. Once the home study is approved, it is sent to USCIS (US Immigration) for final processing of our
I 600A. It could take anywhere from 4 weeks to 10 weeks to get the approval (I171H).
I will probably wait just a little bit to start assembling the paperwork for the dossier. It is all time sensitive and if the documents are over 6 months, they will need to be redone.
Connor wants a little sister (or brother) but he really doesn't understand. He is going along with us of course. We couldn't leave him that long. Plus it will be a great experience for him to see his home country and give him more of an understanding of how he came to us. It will also be great for him to share a common beginning with his sibling.
It will definitely be more difficult traveling with a child. I am already thinking of things to take to occupy his time. That is one thing we had a lot of--down time. I will continue to post as updates happen. My goal (hope) is to travel late spring or early summer.
